Chhetri, served in the Indian Army and played for the Army’s football team, while his mother, Sushila Chhetri, was part of the Nepal women’s football team. With such strong sporting roots, it was only natural that football became an integral part of Sunil’s life from a very young age.
Chhetri’s childhood was marked by frequent relocations due to his father’s army postings. However, his passion for football remained constant. He attended various schools across India, where he continued to develop his skills, often playing against older and more experienced players.
