Looking to buy a used 2-stroke outboard? Check compression first—uneven readings could mean trouble. Inspect for corrosion, especially around the lower unit and powerhead. Check the prop for damage and ensure smooth shifting in and out of gear. Start it up; excessive smoke or rough idling might indicate carburetor or fuel issues. Ask about maintenance history and hours used. If possible, take it for a water test. A well-maintained 2-stroke can be a great deal! buying a used 2 stroke outboard
