Yes at least, that’s how it worked for me. I used ghostwriting services for a business book last year, and the contract clearly said I’d own the full rights once it was done. I even had it reviewed by a lawyer just to be safe. As long as you spell that out in writing (which a good service will), there’s no issue. You can put your name on the cover and do whatever you want with it after. No co-author credits unless you want that. That’s actually the whole point of ghostwriting services—they help you write it, but the finished product is all yours. Just make sure it’s clear in the agreement. No assumptions.
