Are you using Windows 10 or 11 and QuickBooks can’t save as PDF? This thread is for you. Here are steps that helped me:
Check PDF Printer: Confirm “Microsoft Print to PDF” is installed through Control Panel and Optional Features.
Disable UAC Prompts Temporarily: UAC can block the installation of the converter, so set UAC to the lowest level and reboot your PC.
Update .NET Framework: This is needed for the internal printing engine.
Repair QuickBooks Installation: Go to Control Panel and select Repair QuickBooks.
Re-enable UAC and Test: Restart your computer again and test Save as PDF.
After reinstalling .NET and enabling Microsoft PDF printer, exporting worked fine. One user mentioned, “Adding system locale to English (US) fixed weird converter bugs for me.” If you’ve tried all this and it still doesn’t work, share screenshots or logs, and we’ll look into it with you.
