To practice how to do ashwini mudra, begin by sitting in a comfortable meditative posture such as Padmasana or Vajrasana with your spine straight and shoulders relaxed. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to center your mind. Now gently contract the anal sphincter muscles as if trying to hold a bowel movement, hold the contraction for a few seconds, and then slowly release. Continue this rhythmic contraction and relaxation in a slow, controlled manner while maintaining steady breathing. Focus on the movement of energy rising from the base of the spine upwards. Practicing Ashwini mudra daily for a few minutes helps activate the root chakra, improve digestion, enhance mental focus, and promote overall vitality and inner balance.
