I’ve been researching different options for long-term food and product storage, and Mylar packaging bags seem to come up a lot because of their durability and barrier protection. However, there are so many variations—thickness levels, zipper vs. non-zipper, gusseted vs. flat, and even different foil types.
For example, while comparing suppliers, I found that some category pages Custom mylar bags explain the differences in thickness and use cases pretty clearly. It helped me understand why 3.5 mil, 5 mil, or 7 mil bags are chosen for different products.
So I’m curious to hear from people who have used Mylar bags extensively:
What features matter most—thickness, resealability, or something else?
Are gusseted bags better for bulk items, or is flat-pouch packaging more reliable?
Any tips for pairing Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers?
Looking forward to learning from your experience!
